Our Minister
Dan B. Hodge
Dan is in his second term of ministry with First Christian. He ministered with us from August 1997 until December 2005, when he retired from the pulpit ministry. He was called back to the ministry here in December 2008, and began his twelfth year of ministry September 5th, 2011.
Dan is a native of Kentucky, and was educated in public schools in Ohio and Florida. He has earned the B.A. in Bible degree from Atlanta Christian College in 1980, the B.S. degree in Elementary Education summa cum laude from Lander University in 2001, and the M.Ed. from Southern Wesleyan University in 2006. He was employed from 1998-2001 as a bus driver, teaching assistant, and substitute teacher for Greenwood School District 50. Following his graduation from Lander University in 2001, he taught at both Northside and Brewer Middle Schools in Greenwood. He retired in March 2010 after nine and a half years of teaching.
He has preached in congregations in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
He and his wife, Judy, have celebrated 40 years of marriage, and have three children and five grandchildren. His interests include computers, reading, and playing with his grandchildren.
