Wonderful July 4th Service!
Summer slump? Our services on July 4th set highs for the year, with 7 in Sunday School and 34 in worship! We had 12 visitors. The congregational singing was inspiring, and Matt Miller's stirring piano rendition of America the Beautiful lifted our spirits! What a way to celebrate our nation's founding, and our faith in Christ!
Father's Day Breakfast a HUGE Success
Saturday morning, June 18th, we gathered together to honor and remember our fathers. The Circle of Joy prepared a wonderful breakfast (grits, eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, casserole, fruit, butter, jelly, orange juice, coffee, monkey bread)!!! We then went to the sanctuary where tributes to fathers from Katelyn and Jack Nixon, Karyn Nixon, Dana Silver, Marc Hodge, Ashlyn Hinton, Teresa Hinton, Blaze Hinton, Rubert Austin, and Kathy Hawkes were read. Christie Hodge sang for us. Bro. Dan finished with a devotional thought on the life of the earthly father of Jesus, Joseph. There were 23 in attendance. Thanks to the Circle of Joy for their thoughtfulness and hard work.
 One Baptism!
In what may be the last baptism in our old baptistery (and we hope not), Scott Johnson was immersed into Christ last Sunday. He is a neighbor of Tim and Teresa Hinton, who invited him to come to worship with them. Scott responded to the invitation on May 30th. Keep him in your prayers and welcome him into the family!
